software_update_supported_to_date Attribute Added to XSDs for EU Marketplaces
As of April 26, 2022, Amazon will introduce a new attribute called software_update_supported_to_date across 49 Product Types and related XSDs in 8 European marketplaces. This is a new, optional attribute, representing the last date until which software updates will be supported by manufacturers for smart devices. The goal is to comply with the upcoming Omnibus Directive, under which product detail pages for Digital Goods must include details of the product’s functionality including applicable technical protection measures, its compatibility and its interoperability (“Functionality Information”).
Which marketplaces are affected?
This change applies to the following marketplaces: ES, UK, FR, NL, DE, IT, SE, PL.
Who is affected?
Developers with applications that upload or update product listings using feeds based on the category-specific inventory file templates and XSDs are affected. The affected Product Types are as following:
